The gathering brought together leading institutions and feminists NGOs from the region working on human rights, gender, and peacebuilding a space where Sayiba Mbila's dual expertise as a legal practitioner and gender specialist positions her as a critical bridge between grassroots realities and institutional advocacy.
As peace negotiations for eastern DRC continue at the international level, civil society actors like Sayiba Mbila argue that no lasting peace is possible without accountability mechanisms and the systematic inclusion of women in justice processes.
